The Meal Survival guide is a very smart publication that outlines the basic staple foods necessary to put together various lunches, breakfasts, dinners, and snacks for the Flex Plan® and the Core Plan®. You decide which one is right for you. Overall this is a very informative booklet and a great sampling of the hundreds of recipes listed in other Weight Watchers® cookbooks and publications. If you like what is here, you will be pleased to know that another book by Weight Watchers® titled, Mix-it, match-it, is listed in this auction. We highly suggest it, because it is so helpful in meal preparation and planning. The Shot in the Arm book, by Sharon Lee Riguzzi is a superb collection of personal wisdom obtained by the author over a 25 year career with Weight Watchers®. Ms. Riguzzi refers to these mini-essays as "motivationals…to encourage friends who were attempting to lose weight, [she] hoped a weekly shot would help them." We counted 51 individual mini-essays, which we read and agree are very refreshing and full of wisdom. I like to think of this book as the Tao of weight loss and motivational wisdom; it is that well written. The Start Getting Healthy DVD features 3 individual video modules called Eat Well, Move Smart, and Work Out. In Eat Well, Chef Loretta Paganini will guide you through setting up your kitchen with the essential items necessary to prepare meals at home. You are shown how to prepare food with full flavor and reduced calories, and what common everyday kitchen items you will need to prepare these meals quickly while having great fun. In Move Smart, Gina Lombardi will discuss walking strategies, footwear, proper clothing, and tips for walking safely and efficiently. She will also discuss how to set up a home based gym, and give you pointers for joining a fitness center if you wish to work-out in a facility. Finally, in the work out segment, there is a 30 minute full body workout that you can follow to get moving and improve your overall success and wellness.
