Snorer  Snorer's Friend™ Fix snoring fast and get on with your life!  We are serious about helping people stop snoring, to improve their health and relationships.  This item comes with a money back guarantee.  We are giving that guarantee because this type of device is only effective for around 80% of snorers, and we want to maintain 100% positive feedback on ebay.  Please buy it and try it.  If it doesn't work for you, PLEASE let us know and we will refund your full purchase price, and also provide you with information on the the other two effective treatments for snoring : surgery and CPAP.  We sincerely want to help you stop snoring.  This is the best thing to try first.  Cheap and effective for 8 out of 10 people, full refund if you are not one of the 8!   If you or your partner snores, you'll know what a serious and sometimes embarrassing problem snoring can be.  The Snorer's Friend™ can quickly and cheaply stop the snoring, so EVERYONE in the house can get a good night's sleep. Who is the Snorer's Friend™ suitable for? This device is designed for healthy adults who wish to reduce the volume and frequency of their snoring.  It is not suitable for children, for people with a history of epilepsy, for people with tooth or gum problems, or for people with obstructive sleep apnoea (except under the supervision of a doctor or dentist, see below).  If you do not have a full and healthy set of teeth, you may still be able to use the device but please let us know so we can give you some extra guidelines you should follow. How do I use it? The first step is to adjust  the Snorer's Friend™ so it fits your mouth and jaw perfectly.  This is easily done by softening the Snorer's Friend™ in hot water and then placing it in your mouth and moulding it to suit your teeth.  After that, you put it in your mouth every night before you go to sleep, and take it out every morning.  It will need occasional cleaning.  We recommend using your normal toothbrush and toothpaste to keep it clean and fresh.  Full instructions for fitting and use are included with every Snorer's Friend™. How does it work? In sleep, our muscles relax.  This results in the base of the tongue getting closer to the soft tissue at the back of the throat, narrowing the airway.  In non-snorers, this causes no problems.  In snorers, however, the airway becomes so restricted that breathing becomes noisy.  The Snorer's Friend™ fixes this problem by holding the snorer's jaw slightly forward.  Because the tongue is attached to the lower jaw, this opens the airway and restores quiet breathing. Will it work for me? Probably, yes.  The Snorer's Friend™ won't work for everyone, but most medical studies conclude that this type of device is effective for about 80% of snorers.  If it doesn't work for you, you can still try surgery or CPAP machines, but the Snorer's Friend™ is a much cheaper alternative.  We hope that you'll think it's worth trying the Snorer's Friend™ before the more expensive options.  If you want to do your own research, you might like to know that the medical term for a device like the Snorer's Friend™ is "mandibular advancement device" or "mandibular repositioning splint". How long will it last? This will depend mostly on how active your jaw is during the night.  If you grind your teeth ferociously while you sleep, the device may need replacing in as little as 4 months.  With no grinding, you could expect it to last up to two years. Are there side effects? Yes, some side effects may occur.  Most common are jaw joint pain, sore teeth, and excessive salivation.  These usually stop after the snorer has worn the device for a few nights.  Some studies have also shown that long term regular use of mandibular advancement devices can cause gradual movement of the teeth in some individuals, although these results seem to be confined to people using rigid devices made from acrylic, rather than "soft" devices like the Snorer's Friend™.  Nevertheless, we recommend mentioning to your dentist that you are using a Snorer's Friend™ and asking them to monitor the positions of your teeth during your normal dental checkups. If you decide to stop using the device because of any side effects, please let us know and we'll refund your money. What about Obstructive Sleep Apnoea (OSA) ? OSA is a serious condition that sometimes occurs along with snoring.  It is a very serious condition which will have long term effects on your health unless treated properly.  OSA can be life-threatening. People who suffer from OSA frequently stop breathing for short periods (up to a minute) while they sleep, then wake up, usually with choking noises, and recommence breathing.  OSA is graded on how often these episodes occur.  Less than 5 per hour is considered normal, 5-15 is "mild OSA", 15-30 is "moderate OSA", above 30 is "severe OSA". Under the supervision of a doctor, the Snorer's Friend™ may be an effective treatment for people suffering from mild to moderate OSA.  There is not enough evidence to support the use of this kind of device for severe OSA.  Please note that the Snorer's Friend™ (or any similar device) is not always effective in treating OSA, so it is very important to involve your doctor if you suspect you may have this condition.  Symptoms that could indicate OSA include (1) recognised pauses in breathing during sleep (as described above), and (2) extreme daytime tiredness despite spending enough hours in bed. Is it registered? In Australia, all medical devices must be registered with the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) before they can be legally sold (this includes sales on eBay).  Before a device can be registered, the applicant must convince the TGA that (1) the device performs as claimed and (2) the benefit to Australians outweighs any side effects.  The Snorer's Friend™ is registered with the Australian Therapeutic Goods Administration as a Class 1 Medical Device under number ARTG#115164.  Look for TGA registration if you are considering other anti-snoring devices - if they have a TGA registration number, they are probably OK to use.  Ebay staff please note this device was first registered after the October 2002 regulatory change so it does not have an Aust-L or Aust-R number (because the Aust-L and Aust-R system became obsolete for medical devices at that time).  We urge you to update your listing policy to reflect current legislation and we request that you kindly stop ending our listings.  Special Bonus! Each Snorer's Friend™ package now contains a second Snorer's Friend™ mouthpiece at no extra charge!  You can keep it as a spare, or leave it permanently in your overnight bag, or even give it to a friend.  The choice is yours.    And lastly... Free shipping! We won't go adding on another $10 or $15 for shipping or handling.  The price you bid is all you need to pay.  Within Australia, we use Express Post, and if we get your payment before 3pm we will ship that day. So if you buy and pay today, you'll probably get your Snorer's Friend(tm) in tomorrow's mail.  For orders outside Australia we ship via Regular Airmail, which will take 5-20 days, depending on where you live.
