I only use MINT when I personally got the card out of the pack using dustless latex gloves and go straight to binder. My MINT cards have never been touched by human hands and lack the oils or dirts from hands. NEAR MINT - Card is (probably) unplayed and shows very little to no wear and might have a few slight, minor scratches or light marks on card edges. A near mint card will appear to most people as a nearly flawless card. Collectors generally prefer mint or near mint cards. FINE - Card is obviously played, but not heavily. It lacks marks that would make it easily identifiable. It definitely has some minor scratches and/or less than perfect edges. Card shows less than 1/16" depth of whitening along one or two edges of one face of the card. It may have a very minor crease that is only visible close up or through a magnifier. GOOD - Card has a played look to it.It will have whitening showing on the majority of edges on both faces of the card. Card may also have more than 1/16" depth of whitening on edge of back face of card. It may also be a card that looks near mint except for one distinguishing feature, such as a slight tear or visible crease. A good card may also have some permanent black marks on it from play. Good cards are still not identifiable during play in the deck.
