My name is Ben Machado. I will be the new Cubmaster of pack 72 in Palmetto, FL. My wife and I have been den leaders with the pack for 2 years now, along with our 2 cubs, Jacob and Matthew. This has been a great experience for us all and hope to help enrich the lives of others. Our region is not one of wealth, and our parents in the pack are hard working citizens. Joining a pack costs these parents about $25.00 for each kid. After that uniforms and supplies must be purchased which costs about $110.00/ each child. We have several children that are on financial assistance. This is a program that is slowly diminishing through our council. Unfortunately, there is only a set amount that is allotted to each area. And as of now, there are no more funds. My wife is now heading the fund-raising committee and had a super successful month in May. We helped raise over $700 for our pack, which will help with supplies such as awards, day trips and camping trips. We are hoping to make next year even better and are starting to plan now. Please, help to enrich a young life by allowing them to experience what millions of scouts throughout the world, for over 100 years have experienced. OUR KIDS NEED YOUR HELP!
