This company is located in California, and they make recreations of important works of art in the form of what looks like stone. The founders of Incolay were fascinated with bas relief, bringing images to life with raised designs. They formulated a simulated stone with minerals and coupling agents to have what we now know is Incolay or as they say "In layers of color" or "in-color lay". Since the formula creates striations throughout each piece, no two pieces will ever be the same, so you have these wonderful piece of works of art and colors second to none. My piece of Incolay is a trinket or keepsake box, which features a beautiful rose floral spray on the top. I have taken pictures all around so that you can see the beauty of the design and colors for yourself. This heart box has a mix of color striations from beige to rose and everything in between. It measures a little over 2.75" in height and is about 7" across at its widest with no damage to be noted anywhere.
