Baby's Bottom Repair Soap This soap is the most healing soap we've ever seen. It cures diaper rash in one application; two if really bad. We made our first batch about 5 years ago when our son was one and he now gives testimonials as to its effectiveness. He was very happy it was in the house while he was growing up. It's not used like a typical bar, but instead should be applied with a washcloth. Only a small amount, a spot about the size of a quarter is needed. Applied in this way a bar lasts and lasts. While at a craft fair recently a pharmacist stopped at our table. Upon discussing the ingredients he commented as to the healing effectiveness of them. Typical commercially available creams only provide a barrier to hopefully prevent further irritation. This soap speeds relief and promotes healing quickly. It makes a wonderful, simple, natural and inexpensive Baby Shower Gift! The glycerin soap base used to make this soap is also very natural compared to most of the stuf on the market. Years ago, a little boy at our school had a very puffy face from poison ivy. We mentioned to his dad that it might be prudent to think about a doctor's visit, to which he replied, "he's a kid! We'll get some pink stuff. He'll be ok." I couldn't standby as when he was reminded if his discomfort he cried. Our son is the same age and this boy's face was swelled a good 1/4 inch. I drove home, got a bar and gave it to him with explicit directions to let his mom wash his face with it. Within 2 days his face was much better; by the time a week had passed he was back to normal. We recently sent a bar to a friend whose daughter has suffered since birth from Excema. All her life she has had to endure Oatmeal baths, drugs, harsh soaps etc. After a few uses her mom reported that she loves the smell and her skin has never been better.*****WARNING***** Very few people find the Essential Oil used in this soap irritating, but it's not unheard of. If you're extremely sensitive, you may get a reaction (generally hives) where ever you wash with it. We may find one person a year that this happens to, but if you've got very sensitive skin, be forewarned.
