Lightweight aluminum ASC-500 is a high quality premium hitch rack at a super low price! This sturdy all-aluminum scooter & power chair hitch rack is made to last long and look great; don't worry about rust or corroding, this scooter hitch rack is made of quality aluminum. The raised sides create a great place to tie-down your mobility equipment and prevents it from moving around on the rack. The ASC-500 folds up when not in use to make backing up, parking, and maneuvering easy without worrying about clearance issues (view dimensions). Reflectors on the rear allow the hitch carrier to be visible at night. Load up many kinds of wheelchairs and scooters up to 500 lbs. The anti-slip loading surface is riveted on so that even if it gets damaged, it can be replaced quickly and easily with little hassle. The ASC-500 rack features a fully detachable ramp that stores underneath the carrier. The ramp is 66" long by 27.75" wide providing a gradual slope for easy loading of mobility devices. When not in use, the aluminum ramp gets locked in once the removable rail bar is secured at the end of the hitch rack. Rolling wheels on either side of the ramp makes it easy to slide it in and out of the bottom of the scooter hitch rack. The ramp can be used for many other applications such as getting over curbs, stairs, and many other obstacles. The lip on the ramp is shorter when using it for different applications because a small tab is welded on to prevent the ramps from kicking off of the ASC-500 when loading. The sturdy 16" flip plate on the ramp makes the transition onto the ramp a lot easier. Please Note: Mobility devices are not to be occupied when loading, unloading, or on the carrier! Slide the ASC-500 into a Class III or IV receiver to carry a power chair or scooter. Securing the scooter hitch carrier is easily done with included hitch pin or pinch bolt. The advantage of using the pinch bolt is that it keeps the carrier from moving inside the hitch, something the hitch pin doesn't do. An included anti-tilt device takes out more play (wobble action) in the carrier by tightening 3 bolts to your hitch receiver. Once the hitch tube is installed on the receiver of your vehicle the ASC-500 is ready to be loaded. To view the distance between the hitch pin and pinch bolt holes to the carrier (click here).
