Make sure that you know what you are getting:High Purity Glycolic Acid is a specific product often marketed under a single title, such as Medical, Cosmetic, or Professional Grade. There is no difference. We sell 1 oz (30ml), 2 oz (60ml), 3 oz (90ml) , and 4 oz (120ml) sizes.  Sorry, we don't sell 1/4 oz (7.5ml) or other partial ounce sizes. Are you getting the best value for your money??There are basically two types of glycolic acid: High Purity and Technical grade.Technical grade is never to be used for the skin. It is an acidic compound used mainly for industrial cleaning of paint and other finishes.Technical grade can often be detected by sedimentation on or near the bottom of the container. High Purity is clear with no sedimentation.High Purity, also referred to as Medical, Professional, or Cosmetic grade is the same glycolic acid and is to be used on the face or body.It is the ONLY type of glycolic acid that we will ever sell.Glycolic acid is used to accelerate the removal of rough outer skin and is excellent when used as an anti-aging, anti-acne, and scar reducing product. The use of glycolic acid on a regular basis helps stimulate cell rejuvenation - because as we age this process naturally slows down - thereby producing more vibrant and younger looking skin. Chemical peels can be used periodically to simply refresh your skin. At the same time glycolic acid has wonderful properties to draw moisturizers into the newly-exfoliated skin surface.Chemical peels contain an acid solution that is at a lower pH level than your skin's natural pH. Glycolic acid peels when applied to the skin, essentially “strip away”, “burn”, or “peel” the dead layers of skin. Usually, in 3 to 5 days, depending on your skin type, new skin in regenerated. Glycolic acid peels have been shown to promote collagen and elastin production deep in the skin. Your new skin should be smoother, more even colored, and less wrinkled!  Before choosing your 2 strengths. Please read the descriptions below. If you are still undecided, simply send us an email telling us about you: your age, skin type, what skin care issues you are trying to address and anything else YOU think might be helpful.Instructions included.Professional and Medical Grade 30% Glycolic Acid Peel: 1 oz.This strength is perfect for skin that is acne prone or with existing mild to slightly moderate acne. However, you must be the final judge based on your needs and experience.Skin type, skin condition, skin issues that you are trying to address, and age are some variables to use to determine your peel's strength.  * Please remember that everyone's skin is different. We want you to select the strength that is best for you. If you can't decide or have questions about which of our peels to use, simply send us an email and describe your skin type, experience with glycolic peels or lotions, and maybe your age and we will make every effort to help you choose the one best suited for you. You will have to decide but we want to assist you in every way we can.  Sharon ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Who we are and what our goal is.Sharon Marie is a licensed esthetician in New York. She treats, advises, and consults both men and women. She is developing a personal line of skin care products and is featuring them on ebay. The goal of Sharon Marie Skin Care is NOT to compete with the large houses but to offer a superior (albeit little known at this time) product, at truly reasonable prices, with excellent customer service, and provide before and after the sale consultation.   Those of you who have emailed Sharon know that you will always get an answer WITHOUT being required to make any purchase. We invite new visitors to feel free to inquire about any of our products or ask any questions about YOUR particular skin issue.    Questions We Hear Frequently: 1) What is glycolic acid and what does it do?Glycolic acid is used to accelerate the removal of rough outer skin and is excellent when used as an anti-aging, anti-acne, and scar reducing product. The use of glycolic acid on a regular basis helps stimulate cell rejuvenation - because as we age this process naturally slows down - thereby producing more vibrant and younger looking skin. Chemical peels can be used periodically to simply refresh your skin. At the same time glycolic acid has wonderful properties to draw moisturizers into the newly-exfoliated skin surface.   2) What are some of the uses for glycolic acid? They include but are not limited to: a)  Acne prone skin or skin with existing acne. b)  Age spots and discoloration due to sun or environmental factors. c)  Wrinkles and “age” lines.d)  Exfoliating dead skin cells in order to achieve a more youthful appearance.e)  Eliminate scars. 3) Briefly, how does it work? Chemical peels contain an acid solution that is at a lower pH level than your skin's natural pH. Glycolic acid, when used, helps hydrate by drawing moisture into your newly exfoliated skin. Your new skin should be smoother, more even colored, and less wrinkled!    4) Dermatologists and spas are expensive, how does this compare?Depending upon where you live you can expect to pay anywhere from $30-$40 dollars to nearly $90 or $100 dollars for a facial glycolic acid peel. Simply select or ask about your choice of peels, washes, or treatments and compare to what you are paying at your local salon or spa. Allow us to consult with you and rest assured ALL products come with easy to read and use directions.   5) Will I need a ‘prep’ or ‘neutralizer’?Make sure that you wash and rinse thoroughly and completely. For some applications you may use a mild toner but generally just for your face. Prep, short for preparation, is simply to wash, rinse, and dry completely before applying your peel. Don’t be fooled about neutralizers. You don’t need to buy any on the internet.  Simply use baking soda if your peel becomes too intense. Pour some baking soda into your hand, add just a little water and pat the “peeled” area. Don’t rub, just pat, otherwise you’ll give yourself a ‘dermal abrasion’ that you don’t really want   6) How often do I use my glycolic peel, wash, lotion, or cream? There are no set rules but I do recommend only once a week for the first month and then, maybe, 2 times per week after that. The ‘real’ final decision must be yours. I suggest that you experiment, monitor, and observe how your particular skin type reacts to your peel. Of course, please feel completely free to email me with comments or questions.   7) How do I know which strength to use? Everyone's skin is different. We want you to select the strength that is best for you. If you can't decide or have questions about which of our peels to use, simply send us an email and describe your skin type, experience with glycolic peels or lotions, and maybe your age and we will make every effort to help you choose the one best suited for you. We want to assist you in every way we can.   8) What can I expect to see or feel from my peel? A ‘stinging’, ‘tingly’, or ‘hot’ sensation is normal when using glycolic acid peels. The strength of your glycolic acid peel should determine the length of time to leave on your skin. Leave on for no more than 2 to 6 minutes depending on your tolerance. After a few applications you will get the ‘hang’ of it. Also: See question 3.   Thanks for spending your time reading all of this. I’m new to the ‘ebay’ community but not to advising and treating men and women with skin care issues like yours. Even if your budget doesn’t permit a purchase now, please don’t hesitate to write about any questions you have.   Sharon Marie
